Recently, there has been a steady, yet unnoticed victory against the fluoridation of municipal water systems in the United States. People from across the spectrum have woken up to the misleading “evidence” of the healthful effects of forced medication via local government water supply stations. Study after study have shown the harmful effects it has on people who ingest sodium fluoride in large amounts. Currently, there is a standardized amount added to various water systems based on “parts per million” which is based on the recommended daily intake for the average person. This is misleading because what is not taken into account is individual persons in respect to their weight, size, and health. Not only that, sodium fluoride comes from many other sources other than water such as juice, soda, tea, fish, salt, cereal, etc. So unfortunatly, many people may be getting an overprescribed amount. Further, sodium fluoride is supposed to be added topically to the teeth, not ingested into the human body. Recent studies have also found a correlation between fluoride exposure and chromosome damage in humans. Also, most Western European countries do not fluoridate their water and they have the same decline in dental decay as the U.S.  Sadly though, money is involved and agendas survive, exaggerations are proliferated and evidence is ignored. All of this is received with enthusiasm by the ADA, FDA, USDA, etc. Now though, people are waking up to not only fluoride medication in the water, but to all the ungodly injustices that have been deceitfully instituted by ordinary citizens that have ignorantly petitioned falsehood or by those in power who approve lies in order to ammass control, influence and favor. Whether declared or in secret, the practice of this kind of dishonesty will be exposed and judged.

The public drinking water supply should be maintained for the safety and enjoyment of all consumers at all ranges of consumption without fear of over-exposure to sodium fluoride or any other medication that is added to the water supply. Unfortunately, sodium fluoride is the only chemical added to the water supply for the purpose of medication. I believe this to be highly unethical because it not only violates the individual’s right to informed consent by a practicing physician but also because the municipality cannot control the dose of the person ingesting the medicine or track each individuals response once ingested. What policy makers tend not to regard is that everybody is different and each person has a distinct physiological makeup. For instance, some people are more vulnerable to fluoride’s toxic effects than others. This would include the small subset of people that are allergic to low doses of fluoide. There are certain individuals that have medical conditions such as kidney disease that have a heightened susceptibility to fluoride toxicity and fluoridated water increases these effects. Other people, such as manual laborers, athletes, and diabetics will drink more water than others, thereby increasing the chance of exceeding standardized limits.

Over-exposure to sodium fluoride is prevalent due to regular ingestion of other fluoride containing products such as infant formula, processed cereals, juice, soda, tea, wine, beer, seafood, vegetables, fruits, etc. Most of these products are already laced with sodium fluoride because a large portion of factories and farms use any given city’s water supply which usually contains the sodium fluoride already.

The Truth About Sodium Fluoride

According to the MSDS, under “Hazards Identification” it states as follows, “chronic exposure may cause mottling of teeth and osteosclerosis and fluorosis. Symptoms of fluorosis include brittle bones, weight loss, anemia, calcified ligaments, general ill health and joint stiffness. Aggravations of pre-existing conditions are populations that appear to be at risk from the effects of fluoride are individuals that suffer from diabetes insipidus or some forms of renal impairment.”

Research done by the NRC (National Research Council) showed that fluoride can damage the brain and that over-exposure showed adverse effects on I.Q. They also found that fluoride is an endocrine disrupter and warned that fluoridated water may reduce the function of the thyroid among individuals with low-iodine intake. Further studies by “Masters and Coplan” show an association of fluoridated water and an increased uptake of lead into children’s blood. Because of lead’s acknowledged ability to damage the child’s developing brain, this is a very serious finding, yet it is being largely ignored by fluoridating countries. According to the ADA (American Dental Association) fluoridated water is no longer recommended for babies and should avoid it. Also, the connection between fluoride and osteosarcoma has been described by the National Toxicology Program as “biologically plausible.” Further, many mutagenic studies have been carried out with fluorides (usually sodium fluoride). In tests where fluoride was given “in vitro” to mammalian cells, it caused genetic damage, including chromasomal abberations at cytotoxic concentrations at 10mg per litre.

Yet, if a person was to decide that they wanted to filter out the fluoride, they would find out that there are only a few options and all are fairly expensive. Filtrating fluoride cannot be accomplished with ordinary screw on faucet filters. Instead, eleminating this chemical (not vitamin or essential mineral) requires that a person buy a high end filter that has to be replaced on a regular basis and a seperate faucet that has to be installed on the shelf of the sink (usually requiring a plumber). Other methods would be expensive distillation procedures or reverse osmosis that is not generally economically available to the public.

According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), sodium fluoride is intended to be applied topically to the teeth, not ingested into the body. In my opinion, if it was deemed appropriate to swallow fluoride, a safer approach would be to provide fluoridated bottled water in supermarkets free of charge. This approach would allow both the quality and the quantity of the dose to be controlled. Moreover, it would not force it on people who don’t want it.

In fact, those who oppose fluoridation of water stress that forced medication of fluoride to the public at large is unconstitutional and unsafe. To put it another way, does an individual or government have the right to require that their neighbor ingest a certain medication against their will? I believe this shouldn’t be the case in our country. Sadly though, ever since 1950, when the U.S. Public Health Service enthusiastically endorsed fluoridation before one single trial had been completed, officials at all levels have followed suit and it continues to this very day.

In my research I found that fluoride that the city I live in receives  an industrial waste product that is bought from Cascade Columbia Distribution Company, listed as item number 666-1T1. Cascade Columbia Distribution Company gets their sodium fluoride from K.C. Industries located in Mulberry, Florida. K.C. Industries receives the fluoride in a different form , called fluorosilicic acid. This acid is a waste product made from phosphate fertilizer companies. The waste product cannot be legally dumped into the enviornment, according to international law. Therefore, this waste product is marketed as a health product and essential mineral and sold to unwitting communities across the globe. The funny thing is that only a small fraction of fluoridated water reaches its target. Most of it ends up being used to wash the dishes, to flush the toilet, or to water our lawns and gardens!

Thankfully, there are still some places around the globe that do not add sodium fluoride to the tap water. In fact, 97% of western Europe has chosen to go fluoride free. This includes Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, and Switzerland.

No difference exists in tooth decay between fluoridated and unfluoridated countries. While fluoridation is often credited with causing the reduction in tooth decay that has occured in the U.S. in the last 60 years, the same reductions in tooth decay have occured in all western countries, most of which have never added sodium fluoride to their water. And according to the WHO (World Health Organization), tooth decay rates in western Europe are often lower than the tooth decay rates in the United States.

The International Chiropractors Association opposes mass water fluoridation, considering it “possibly harmful and deprivation of the rights of citizens to be free from unwelcome mass medication.” Not only that but some of the earliest opponents to fluoridation were biochemists and at least 14 Nobel Prize winners are among numerous scientists who have expressed their reservations about the practice of fluoridation.

Fluoridation is an unreasonable risk. That is, the toxicity of fluoride is so great and the purported benefits associated with it are so small-if there are any at all- that requiring every man, woman and child to ingest it borders on insanity and criminal behavior on part of the governments. I’m not talking about the just the local governments, but the politicians, trans-national governments like the World Health Organization and the United Nations, as well as interest groups that push unfounded science upon our elected officials. In my opinion, “fluoride science” is fraudulent science and is comparable to so called studies that reassured the people that asbestos was harmless, that lead containing products were harmless, that ddt (insecticide) was harmless, and that tobacco was harmless. Now we know the truth about these poisons but millions of people had to die and countless more had to get sick.
